Thirteen Quebec-based Social Credit MPs, led by Réal Caouette, split from the national Social Credit Party to form the Ralliement des créditistes, a Quebec-focused populist party. The split occurred over leadership disputes with Robert N. Thompson.
The Ralliement survived as a separate party until 1971, winning seats in multiple elections. Caouette later reunited with Social Credit.
