Maria Mourani

Mourani left the Bloc and publicly renounced her belief in Quebec sovereignty - a fundamental change of heart. She wanted to join the NDP, but the NDP has a policy against accepting floor-crossers.

She sat as independent, ran as NDP candidate in 2015 but lost. This is the only known case where a party's anti-floor-crossing policy prevented someone from joining.
