The member sat with one caucus and then sat with another, without the seat being returned to voters in between. What you may rely onThat a party gained a seat it did not win. It says nothing about why: the record separates where a member went from whether they chose to go.How it countsThe direction the floor-crossing total is drawn from, but not the total itself. A small number of legs whose labels read party-to-a-different-party are ruled election-time relabelling, and count toward nothing.

How rare is this?

6 recorded transitions match leaving Conservative Party of Canada, joining Liberal Party of Canada and at the federal level, across 6 events and 6 named people (Crossing the Floor Database, release 2026-08-01.1, consulted October 3, 2026). The most recent is Matt Jeneroux, February 18, 2026 — the 6th on record. The earliest on record is Belinda Stronach, May 17, 2005.

5 of the 6 are recorded to the day; the other 1 are recorded to the year only, so no exact interval can be quoted.
4 of the 6 meet the database's publication standard; the other 2 are unreviewed leads.
2 of the 6 carry a recorded outcome after the transition; any share must be taken over those 2 and published beside that number.
Withdrawn records are excluded from this set.
No senator appears in this count: we hold Senate events, but none has passed the publication gate.

Corrections to this record

Permanent citation address did not resolve
The permanent URI published for this record was https://crossingthefloor.ca/en/crossings/marilyn-gladu-2026. This site has never served a language-prefixed route and has no /id/ route, so that address returned HTTP 404: any citation made against it did not resolve to the record. The permanent URI is now https://crossingthefloor.ca/crossings/marilyn-gladu-2026, the canonical record address. The record's facts, dates, parties, participants, sources and public identifier (CTF-E-000093) are unchanged; only the stored address was corrected.
