How rare is this?

6 recorded transitions match leaving Conservative Party of Canada, joining Liberal Party of Canada and at the federal level, across 6 events and 6 named people (Crossing the Floor Database, release 2026-08-01.1, consulted October 4, 2026). The most recent is Marilyn Gladu, April 8, 2026 — the 6th on record. The earliest on record is Belinda Stronach, May 17, 2005.

5 of the 6 are recorded to the day; the other 1 are recorded to the year only, so no exact interval can be quoted.
4 of the 6 meet the database's publication standard; the other 2 are unreviewed leads.
1 of the 6 carry a recorded outcome after the transition; any share must be taken over those 1 and published beside that number.
Withdrawn records are excluded from this set.
No senator appears in this count: we hold Senate events, but none has passed the publication gate.

Permanent citation address did not resolve
The permanent URI published for this record was https://crossingthefloor.ca/en/crossings/michael-ma-2025. This site has never served a language-prefixed route and has no /id/ route, so that address returned HTTP 404: any citation made against it did not resolve to the record. The permanent URI is now https://crossingthefloor.ca/crossings/michael-ma-2025, the canonical record address. The record's facts, dates, parties, participants, sources and public identifier (CTF-E-000091) are unchanged; only the stored address was corrected.

The legacy record incorrectly described federal MP Michael Ma as a British Columbia politician and supplied an unsupported birth year. The false material was removed. Official House and Elections Canada records now support the federal timeline and exact December 11, 2025 affiliation date.
