Biography

Belinda Stronach is a Canadian businesswoman and former politician. She ran for the Conservative leadership in 2004. On May 17, 2005 her recorded affiliation changed from the Conservative Party of Canada to the Liberal Party of Canada, and she became Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development the same day. The record holds both dates and does not assert that either caused the other. She was re-elected in Newmarket—Aurora in 2006.
