Crossing the Floor is a research and educational tool. Unverified leads, unknowns, disputes, and analysis are labelled; they must not be cited as confirmed historical facts.
Project-authored structured data is offered under the Open Government Licence – Canada 2.0 where Baldwin Industries has authority to license it. A citation must include the version and access date to remain reproducible.
Source documents, excerpts, photographs, portraits, marks, and third-party metadata retain their own rights. Their presence in a record or data release grants no additional licence. Inspect each source’s rights_status field.
API v2 is public and keyless, with a limit of 120 requests per minute per network fingerprint. Responses expose rate-limit headers. Use that compromises the service may be temporarily slowed or blocked.
Do not try to erase a historical error by reusing an identifier. Report it: an accepted correction creates a durable public revision while prior versions remain citable.
The service is provided according to its documented evidence and review state. No warranty is made that a research lead is complete. Legal, electoral, professional, or personal decisions should not rely on this site alone.
