Biography

Joseph Howe was a Nova Scotian politician, journalist and statesman. He led the anti-Confederation movement in Nova Scotia. On April 24, 1869 his recorded affiliation changed from the Anti-Confederation Party to Liberal-Conservative. He served as President of the Privy Council and later as Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia. The record does not hold his reasons.
